Overall it was excellent, the guide did a good job but did not speak English as the booking indicated they would. The written text communication was so precise in English we expected him to speak in English but the first thing he told us was he did not. When we entered the vehicle, at first we thought he was going to play music for the whole way, but then it went into a English speaking description of all the stops and sites along the way. The auditory was good, but we had expected interactive English speaking guide. Otherwise it was a wonderful tour.

We would like to clarify that, as indicated in the booking, the standard tour does not include an interactive tour guide, but rather a professional audio system on board. Since we were not informed in advance of your visual impairment, we were unable to recommend the additional private guide service, which would have provided the continuous verbal support you sought.
However, we're proud to know that our driver, understanding your needs, went out of his way to make your day special: it was a pleasure for him to accompany you off-plan to Savoca and personally offer you a ride in an Ape Calessino to the Church of Santa Lucia (famous for the film The Godfather) and take photos of you in front of the famous Bar Vitelli, allowing you to experience the atmosphere of the place in a unique and up-close way.

I was on cruise and booked this with two other people. Castlemona and Taormina are worth seeing and it does take all day. We paid extra for a guide but the guide was very soft spoken with a thick accent and we had a hard time hearing her in the van, and she frequently did not understand our questions. She told us about the places and then we explored them on our own. Other groups had a guide that stayed with them and explained as they were looking at things which seemed to be much better.

We took a detour to Savoca where scenes from the Godfather movie were filmed. Beautiful medieval village where a toc toc took us to the top where the church was. Taormina was lovely but chaotic with tourists and Castelmola had great views and you could climb to the top of the ruined castle for more great views.

Very stress free transfer to Taormina and Castelmola. The driver was on time at each stop and gave clear directions regarding meeting points and times. They also provided car seats for our children. The driver also included photo stops at the Isola Bella lookout and Messina Cathedral, which was appreciated.

Giuseppe is the best! We used his services almost daily, & when he was available, he was always on time & accommodated our needs (My husband has Parkinson's Disease & also motion sickness) He also speaks some English.
